About me

I'm Laurel and I love to run, workout and live life to the fullest! I've been into working out all of my adult life but I didn't really get into running until about 2010. I used to say I would never run a full marathon, but so far I've complete 6 including the Boston Marathon, a 50k trail race and now I'm training for my 1st 50 mile trail race. I have also run several half marathons and relay races which I really enjoy.

In my early 20's I was a personal trainer. Although my career path ended up changing drastically, I have remained faithful to my fitness & health. I work out hard and usually appeared fit on the outside, but I haven't always been fit on the inside. I often felt like I was running on empty, I had digestive issues and I just never felt that great. I recently started eating clean as much as possible (eating minimally processed, additive free whole foods). This is something I've been educated in and have knowledge about, but for some reason never seemed to practice myself! Maintaining "clean" nutrition was always the missing link in achieving the full results desired for both myself and many of the clients I trained in the past. Now in my 40's I feel better than I ever have, I have more energy & I don’t have to work out as hard to maintain my fitness. I simply want to share my journey with others and hopefully inspire you to do the same.

I want to help you find the activities that you enjoy and fuel your body to perform them. It’s not just for athletes or fitness freaks, this is a way of life for anyone that wants to feel good and have the energy to really enjoy doing the things they love. My enthusiasms happen to be running and fitness, what are yours? Maybe you love fishing, horseback riding, hunting, snowmobiling, skiing, walking your dog, playing recreational sports, camping, hiking or traveling. Maybe it’s as simple as being able run & play with your kids or grand kids. All of these hobbies or activities can be so much more enjoyable & rewarding when you have a healthy, well fueled body.


In addition to eating clean I also try to live clean and I'm always on a mission to find natural, chemical free alternatives for everything. I also have a huge love for animals so some of my posts will include talk of my 2 dogs, 2 cats and the volunteer work I do for a local animal rescue.
